Jiaosun is an acupoint on the hand Shaoyang Sanjiao meridian, located on the head of the body. Bend the ear lobe forward when the earlobe is directly above the hairline. Sit or lie on the side, with the ear wing folded forward, at the hairline where the ear wing tip is pointed.
Acupoint analysis of Jiaosun
Jiao, meaning kidney inside the ear, refers to the material inside the acupoint as the ascending Qi of the heavens; Sun, meaning fire. Jiao is water, Sun is fire, referring to the material inside the acupoint as the gaseous substances of the heavens. The meaning of Jiaosun is that the ascending and attracting cold descending Qi of the heavens converges into the Sanjiao meridian from this acupoint. This acupoint is the highest point in the Sanjiao meridian. There is no Qi entering this acupoint in the Sanjiao meridian, so the Qi of this acupoint is in a state of bitterness. The dampness and cold steam of the external spread of the Bladder meridian of the Foot Taiyang enters the external sprinkling dampness and wind of the Foot Shaoyang Gallbladder meridian, which converges into the acupoint. The Qi inside the acupoint is both in the upper heaven of the fire, and mainly shows the characteristics of the kidney’s descending moistness.

Gently press the Jiaosun acupoint with the palm of the finger or the little finger, and perform a circular massage until a tingling and sore feeling is produced.
Place the thumbs on the same direction of the Jiaosun acupoint, with the other four fingers attached to the sides of the head, and knead and press moderately for 1 minute.
