Three, Dosage Requirements for Operation

Switching from other antipsychotic drugs to proprietary products: Some patients can stop the previously used antipsychotic drugs immediately; while for others, the previously used antipsychotic drugs should be gradually discontinued. In addition, the time of taking antipsychotic drugs should be as short as possible.

Adults: Oral, once a day. The initial required dose is 10mg, after taking the medicine for two weeks, the dose can be gradually increased according to the patient’s response and tolerance, up to a maximum of 30mg. After that, this dose can be maintained without change. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 30mg.

Administration Method: Keep the arm dry, quickly remove the tablet and place it on the tongue, the aprepitant oral disintegrating tablet can dissolve within a few seconds, no water or only a small amount of water is needed, and it can be taken into the stomach through swallowing. Patients cannot try to separate the tablets or bite with their teeth.

Four, Overdosing on Medication

There is currently no specific antidote for aprepitant overdose. Once an overdose occurs, an electrocardiogram should be checked; if the QTc interval increases, a thorough cardiac examination should be conducted. In addition, supportive therapy should be adopted to keep the bronchitis smooth and to provide oxygen, and medication treatment should be administered. Medical management and examination should be carried out inseparably until the patient recovers from the training.

Activated Carbon: After excessive intake of aprepitant, the initial use of activated carbon may be beneficial for preventing the digestion of aprepitant. After taking 15mg of aprepitant orally, taking 50g of activated carbon can reduce the average AUC and Cmax of aprepitant by 50%.

Blood Analysis: Although blood analysis does not process all the information of aprepitant overdose, due to the high protein binding rate of aprepitant, blood analysis may not have a significant expected effect on the excessive processing.
