However, the disadvantages of the glass thermometer are also quite obvious, such as fragility and the potential for environmental pollution from liquid mercury; the time for accurate measurement is relatively long, which is not convenient for use by acute and severe patients, the elderly, infants, and the like, and it is also difficult to read the values.

When using a mercury thermometer to measure body temperature, it is necessary to ensure sufficient time. When making an accurate measurement under the armpit, the thermometer should first be thrown to below 35℃, then the mercury end of the thermometer should be placed under the top of the armpit and held, ensuring that the electronic thermometer has a deeper contact with the skin, remove the electronic thermometer after 5-10 minutes, after loading the myopia value, use handkerchief paper to clean it for the next use.
