Classification of cephalosporins
The classification of cephalosporins can generally be divided into four generations. Cephalosporins are commonly used drugs in daily life and are also broad-spectrum antibiotics. They have good effects on many inflammatory infections and pathogenic infections in daily life. Cephalosporins are generally divided into first-generation, second-generation, third-generation, and fourth-generation cephalosporin drugs, and each drug has different antibacterial activity, and the effects after taking them may also vary.
1. First-generation cephalosporin drugs: First-generation cephalosporin drugs are commonly seen in daily life, mainly including cefaclor and cefodizime, as well as other cephalosporin drugs such as cefradine. They have a promoting effect on recovery for not too serious infections in daily life.
2. Second-generation cephalosporin drugs: Second-generation cephalosporin drugs mainly include cefmenoxime and cefoxitin, among others, and there are also other types of drugs. Taking second-generation cephalosporin drugs can have therapeutic effects on some Gram-negative bacteria or other pathogenic infections.
3. Third-generation cephalosporin drugs: The main representatives of third-generation cephalosporin drugs are cefotaxime and cefodin, which have certain effects on severe infections, but must strictly follow the doctor’s advice when taking the medicine.
4. Fourth-generation cephalosporin drugs: The main representatives of fourth-generation cephalosporin drugs are cefepime and others, which are mainly used for severe infections.
