How to read the hepatitis quantification test report

Liver function tests are the most direct test to determine whether an individual is infected with the hepatitis B virus, and liver function tests are very important. In daily life, observe whether there is the presence of the hepatitis B virus in your body.

Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg): The standard value of hepatitis B surface antigen is below 0.5 ng/ml. If the test result exceeds 0.5, it indicates a positive result, which means the operator is infected with the hepatitis B virus and is a carrier of hepatitis B.

Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAb): The standard value of hepatitis B surface antigen is 10 Miu/ml. Hepatitis B surface antibody is a defensive antigen. If the test result exceeds 10, it indicates a positive result, which can protect us from infection with the hepatitis B virus.

Hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg): The standard value of hepatitis B e antigen is below 0.5 PEI U/ml. If the test result exceeds this value, it indicates that the hepatitis B e antigen is a sign of hepatitis B virus replication. The higher the standard value of the test result, the stronger the infectivity of the hepatitis B virus in the operator’s body, and the more active the virus replication.

Hepatitis B e antibody (HBeAb): The normal standard value of hepatitis B e antibody is 0.2 PEI U/ml. If the test result exceeds this value, it indicates that the operator’s body is showing signs of the hepatitis B virus replication approaching termination, indicating a weaker infectivity.

Hepatitis B core antibody (HBcAb): The standard value of hepatitis B core antibody is 0.9 PEI U/ml. If the test result exceeds the standard value, it indicates a positive result, which means the operator has been infected with the hepatitis B virus or has recovered from an acute infection in the convalescent period.

Liver function tests are only used as a specific tool for hepatitis B, but they cannot actually indicate the severity and viral replication status of hepatitis B, so it is recommended to do liver function tests, HBV-DNA tests, and other checks.
