The effects and contraindications of dangshen
Dangshen has excellent effects of invigorating the spleen and stomach, nourishing and enriching blood, producing saliva and quenching thirst, and treating qi stagnation and liver fire, but people with excessive qi stagnation and liver fire should not use it.
1. Tonify the spleen and stomach
Dangshen has similar effects to ginseng but is more mild, with the effects of tonifying the spleen and lung qi. It can have a good therapeutic effect on symptoms such as poor digestion, weakness, lassitude, decreased appetite, loose stools, persistent cough due to deficient lung qi, shortness of breath, palpitations, low voice, and night sweats caused by insufficient spleen qi.
