Ahong disease is also known as finger binding disease, finger (toe) break syndrome, or spontaneous finger (toe) detachment syndrome, a local disease in tropical areas. Due to chronic inflammation and fibrosis surrounding the toes (fingers) forming a linear narrowing, it eventually leads to the amputation of the fingers (toes). The name Ahong comes from the Dong language, meaning to saw.1821In the year Messue first mentioned this disease, which is an unexplained skin abnormality with bone resorption, a disease that occurs in tropical and subtropical regions, a local disease characterized by a narrowing band around the fingers (toes) and spontaneous amputation. Ahong disease has a high incidence in blacks. At the beginning of the disease, the skin on the flexor side of the distal interphalangeal joint of the fingers (toes) develops cracks, the dermis forms a circular fiber, and transverse grooves appear and gradually deepen, eventually forming a circular concave groove, as if tied by a thin rope, the distal part of the fingers (toes) with the circular groove swells, may be painful, eroded, and smell bad. The circular groove becomes deeper and deeper. Generally,5~10Natural amputation of fingers (toes) over the years. Due to blood and nerve nutrition disorders, local bone tissue progressively resorbs with the deepening of the soft tissue groove, and the residual end becomes sharp and pointed, and the histological examination shows loose bone.
